Something Big Is Coming

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

Robotics have aided human exploration of the deep oceans and space, and their applications are growing in fields such as healthcare, agriculture, food production, industry, and even education. Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science are all integrated into the multidisciplinary field of robotics. This field covers power electronics, control systems, automated decision-making, and embedded programming. Together, these fields must sense, think, and act (the core properties of a robotic system). Computer vision, artificial intelligence, robotic dynamics, and human-robot interaction are some possible topics in robotics. Bipedal robots that can run and walk on varied terrain are just one of the innovations being made by Oregon State's world-class robotics program.

Industrial automation, creating control systems for non-robotic systems (like airplanes), and researching advancements required to make robotics a commercially viable sector are all potential career paths (such as iRobot). Several businesses in the area are now hiring, but there are lots of businesses all around the country..
